“The Abyss”—Three Days Grace

“Twitterpated?” Unsure of how I should respond to being pulled into his lap, I stuttered. Part of me wanted to stiffen and jump up. The other part of me wanted to melt into his warm chest rumbling behind me in a low chuckle.

Dominic gave a good-natured shrug. “Hey, I’m not ashamed to admit I watch Disney with my little girl.” He grinned.

“Doesn’t mean you should use the vocabulary from the movies.” Logan snickered.

“Oh, just you wait. When that little rugrat comes out, you’ll be doing all kinds of things you never thought you would.” Levi had stepped up behind his brother. His fiancée, Poppy, was beside him with a wide smile on her face. With her long dark hair, she was stunningly beautiful, her bright blue eyes a shade or two darker than mine.

“That little bundle of joy is going to have you running circles.” Poppy smirked as she kissed Logan on the cheek. “Sorry, little brother, but it’s the truth. Haven’t you seen the way your brother is with Ian and the way he will be with this new one?”

“Hell if that’s not the tru—Whoa! Wait! New one?” Logan’s eyes got huge as he glanced between his brother and his brother’s fiancée. As I glanced around the group, I saw the same shocked look on all of their faces.

Autumn had frozen halfway to her seat with her mouth hanging open. Dropping to her butt, she still looked surprised. Except a curl to the corner of her lips gave away her happiness at the news. “Congratulations!” she announced.

Hiding my own grin, I could see this was news to each band member. I was happy for them. I’d wanted more children, but I was resigned to the fact that Tanner would be my only.

The few guys I’d tried to date before William quickly hauled ass after they found out I had a son with autism. Which was fine. I didn’t want them around him if that’s all it took to send them running.

William had been unable to have children because he’d had a vasectomy when he was fairly young. I’d never understood that until he wrote me the letter explaining about his and his father’s illness. So many things made sense after that.

“Yeah, she decided to tell me after we got on the plane.” Levi gave Poppy a bit of the evil eye before he pulled her back to his front. He kissed her cheek and wrapped his arms around her.

“Well, I knew if I told you before you might make me stay home with your parents coddling me. I wanted some alone time with my man and our little man.” Tipping her head up and to the side so she could look at him, she reached further and kissed him.

“She knows you well,” Dominic teased after recovering from the initial surprise. Levi seemed extremely protective of Poppy, but Dominic didn’t seem to have much room to talk. His eyes followed Autumn everywhere. “So when are you going to make an honest woman out of her?”

Levi’s answer was to roll his eyes.
